I DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME - “SIXFT” from the new record GLOOM DIVISION, out now!

Stay connected:

LYRICS:

I kept hope alive
So that I could be with you
Tried to bewitch your mind
But I let love die
How I failed
But oh how I tried
Darling

Don’t
Don’t push me around
I don’t wanna see you buried
Six feet underground
Fuck around and find out
No i don’t want to see you darling
Six feet underground
Six feet underground (again)

Overemphasize
All these grandstanding gaslights
Black eyes and fist fights
I “romanticize”.
All this pretense was meant to
misrepresent you

So Don’t
Don’t push me around
I don’t wanna see you buried
Six feet underground
Fuck around and find out
No I don’t wanna see you darling
Six feet under

What’s your excuse for coming over?
Six eyed with a champagne shoulder
unexpectedly

Don’t
Don’t push me around
I don’t wanna see you buried
Six feet underground
Fuck around and find out
No i don’t want to see you darling
Six feet underground
Six feet underground (end)

Reminds me of Choke because of how happy it sounds but how dark it truly is. Dallon has done it again

i love how this album feels — your previous songs are all great, but this one specifically gives such an interesting perspective creatively and i am LOVING it

haunting, yet you can’t help singing along

I love how this song can be so dual. Looking at it independently, it can sound so menacing and evil, but looking it from the context of the album, you see how this represents that hurtful transition from loving someone to truly realizing the effect of their influence in your life. That point where the part of you that sees the damage is in a mayor conflict with the part of you that is still emotionally attached and present to that person.

That point where you know you must put a healthy limit to something you still love.

For me, that explains the overwhelming anger that the new perspective (which allows the interpreter to see the "grandstanding gaslights") produces within the interpreter. The previously dismissed feeling of doubt, caused by the "fighting for a look at the DOWNSIDE", and hindered by the "sick obsession" of the "INFATUATION, " begin to be clear after a breakup, where the question "WHAT LOVE?" leads to look at the mistakes made by the interpreter. Then, looking back at the actions of the other, he deciphers a grim reality, but is it the truth?

The interpreter can be heard with the determination of not allowing to be mistreated again, and in a sense, stablishes his boundaries in the form of a challenge ("F- around and find out.").

From my perspective, it's evident that whomever did this to the interpreter is someone he can't get away from, either because of external influence or because of emotional attachment, (perhaps co-dependency) so he must find his way around this person. (Establishing limits.) Perhaps that could even be the reason why he doesn't wanna see them "buried six feet underground" or dead, representing nothing to the interpreter.

Intended or not, for me, GLOOM DIVISION is masterly choreographed to represent the process of entering into a relationship without thinking it through, it shows the bits of doubt, and the calls to conscience that pop up and are ignored, the self blame and the self defense. The whole album feels very deep and personal, and outside of the personal meaning or perspective, the structure of the music and lyrics is refreshing, feels natural and provides the listener with a colorful, assortment of songs which still feel familiar with each other.

I think, what I mean to say is...

THANKS DALLON; I LOVE THIS ALBUM, IT'S THE BEST EVER

Sincerely,
A dumb furry :p

I've been waiting for this album ever since it was announced and listened to the entire thing as soon it was released (I've been preparing all day) and this and SPKOTHDVL are my favorite songs atm. There's a certain really pretty, but sinister and dark vibe to this that I am literally obsessed with

Well, jimminey cricket, another banger! I love love love how smooth and eerie it is, the note choices abd lyricism is so well thought out. Throughout this whole album you can really sense that Dallon really enjoyed the creative process of this work. Just everything, fantastic.
