Nice job. I was using rail road plates. But had several beavers pull the plate to sallow water. I was using heavy ones. I made almost 2 dz 10 ft drowning rods. I am so glad I did. I went from a Victor #4 dls to Bridger #5 .

What some tanks! One of our local trappers caught a 55 pounder this year around here. That was the first time I've heard about beavers in our area. And I'm in my late 40's

My favorite way to catch beavers right there! Footholds, castor mounds, and drowners doesn’t get any better

Dear C.C.O
Great video's, you need what we call a cajun anchor in south Louisiana. It's a length of 1/2" or 5/8" (3 to4') re-bar with an eye welded on the end. Anchor one end at the trap, then anchor the drownder end to the cajun anchor. Then you just throw the C.A. in the water, the critters can't pull it out but you can by pulling on the cable.
Thanks

Are offset jaws for for beaver no good? It would be nice if they worked so I could use my wolf traps instead of having to buy two different ones

Great video, can’t beat a good castor mound. I deal with steep banks on my line to, hard to get that front foot and I’ve never used rebar rod either, always cable for for my weights.

Great video as always. Hopefully you can make a nickel for your efforts.
Ole beaver can cause major damage when in conflict with us. State spends thousands every year. Trying to prevent them from flooding out roads .

Hi really like your vids I am new to trapping could you go over what trap and how to set it up meaning all the working parts where to hook the cable and how you hook the drowning plat and anchor thanks

I trapped a very shallow pond a few years ago, cables and weights didn't work and neither did drowning rods. I got a suggestion to attach the weight to the trap with one end of the cable attaching to the weight and the other end of the cable anchored to the bank, i left the weight and cable hidden just to the side of my trap under the water. Sure enough the big beavers drug the weight in to the water and were drown in a foot of water. Not going to lie it was definitely more of a hassle than a regular drowning cable.

Hey Stu, top notch video quality. You may have answered previously but, I can't seem to find many videos or content on remaking a K9 set after a miss or dug up trap. Your knowledge and experience is greatly appreciated.

Had an otter pull my weight up on top the floating log i was set on. Had to dispatch it with a 220 on the stick. Love using the cable tho. Can pack a lot that doesnt weigh much

In shallow water try using a t bar stake through your drowner weight. They won’t pull that up

Hey Stu I'm new to your channel awesome man! So I started looking for videos on trapping fox got 2 grey's that messed up my bow hunting 3 hunts this past season I've never caught a K9 I've tried fairly hard 1 year and failed! Trying to put your knowledge to work in hopes of getting them out of there.

Sounds like you have a lot of Geese that need shot too haha. Awesome videos though, I’m looking to try trapping some PA beavers and these videos are going to be a huge help!
