Excellent point...Thanks for sharing! After mowing super low, dethatching and aerating, I apply Dylox 6.2/Bayer... Needs to be watered in good. Kills grubs (and other insects) on contact! The next day I overseed, trying a KGB blend this year. I apply Tenacity as a pre-emergent to treat bare spots, seed, starter fertilizer, peat moss, keep seeds moist and wait patiently for the next month! 🤞 I use Triazicide during the season, always effective!

Good video man! Last year during my lawn renovation I reached out to spectricide to make sure it's safe to apply at seeding. It is safe however they advised me against it due to all the watering. What I did was apply it a week before seeding. Keep up the great content man!

Never would have thought about insects taking the grass seed. Just another reminder that lawn care has much more to it than most people realize.

I have a few spots on my lawn where grass seed will not germinate. Tomorrow I will check for insects. If that is the problem, I will be forever grateful to you.

Great advice. I'm sure this would save time and $ during an overseed project.

Good tips Seth. This will be the first time in 5 years I'm not overseeding this fall. Got to the point where It really doesn't need it. Gonna give it a rest this fall and just repair some patches I have 👊

Seth, as you know we had a pretty warm fall here in Iowa and overseeding in September would of just lead to dead dry grass seed. Now that it's starting to cool off, If I plant grass seed and get it germinated and coming up about and inch, will it make it thru the winter or is it just a waste of time and money?

I got rid of a bunch of brush in my backyard that was probably hoarding termites and ants and God knows what. I need to go around my house with ortho. I found a couple of black ants ironically. Have to Nippet in the bud. Keep up that lawn. Does ortho expire? I’ve had it for a while. Probably should do the perimeter more often.

Wow! You put seed down without raking it in, covering with peat moss or shredded straw and didn't water it?

Crazy how it didn't germinate! Let's blame the bugs. 🙄
