To your question about the copper doors. Unfortunately, they work like wooden doors. Maybe you can find another way to keep zombies away? Maybe sweet berries under carpet or something like that?

I think zombies can break the copper doors. But you can disrupt their pathfinding algorithm by placing door to the side of the wall (change its position: open becomes close and close become open)
