My parents marriage ended after 46 years…. When dad had Vascular dementia at 90 & dad wondered where mom was…it took a lot to convince my mom to visit…. In the end she was so glad she did!

My mom and dad divorced back in '77-'78. Both remarried. My dad remarried twice. My first step-mom died in 2021 from a brain aneurysm. My mom attended her funeral as they became close friends over the years because of us kids. My dad remarried again, and has been with my second step-mom for 20 yrs. He passed away earlier this week. My mom is attending HIS funeral also. My mom and dad have kept a friendship over the years and it has helped my brother and I in our lives...and it's good for the grand kids too. Blended families CAN make it work as long as adults are ADULTS....Respect and LOVE comes FIRST.
