Stevie had the whole package: technical precision, virtuosity, passion, physicality, showmanship, tone, and with an underrated singing voice that perfectly suited his playing style and musical genre. Beyond that, he was a man of humility and kindness. He also kicked an addiction to drugs and alcohol and was a tremendous inspiration to a great many folks. God bless his legacy!

I had the privilege of living in Austin from '79 - '86 and first saw SRV live in '79.... absolutely amazing! Saw him several times, and chatted occasionally. A real loss, He was an incredible talent, we all miss him. The Austin music scene was off the chain.... imagine SRV playing live in a club somewhere every week in Austin.... He did his European tour in '80 and made the "guitar player of the year", and was "made".... quite a man.

Wudda given a week's salary to have seen you break into this song on line at a register LOL. This is is one of my faves, Stevie's voice is so strong and angry at the top then goes soft when he sings "...my little girl alone." I'm certain he's not talking about a daughter! That guitar solo sounds like he wants to give someone a pounding if they don't lay off. Good talk. ☮️
