I use Ubuntu because it is easy - that is it. I tried some of the rest - but some require a degree of expertise that I do not have.

On Linux side, I do like Ubuntu, Arch, Fedora, Opensuse and Debian. Gentoo is something I wont use a on main use computer or a Mini PC its too much effort just to install it. I have used it in the past as with CRUX OS. Quite often prefer a Linux that just works.


People shouldn't be pressuring each other using their distros, it is down to the user what distro they use. Other forms of social pressure can have very severe effects on my condition and leads to a certain kind of OCD, which is what I see a nurse about.

Is that where Melbourne was on a map? More like Yass. Or Albury. I use Ubuntu Studio which is basically this with creative tweaks and OOTB software. Get the map right Canonical!

Yeah Old Mate, 20.04 does seem to be very sluggish on that Acer. I run Ubuntu 20.04 on one of my computers, it’s an old Core i7 4770 with 8gb of ram, and it runs like a dream, no slow downs or lag. As much as I like Ubuntu I’m still not 100% sold on their ‘Snap first’ philosophy. But I can still use apt so no biggie. Cheers Old Mate, I enjoyed this SSPR

Yeah the 20.04LTS is slow. I think you need newer hardware.
