The BMW M5 is breaking new ground as the first plug-in hybrid in the M5 lineup, and the second M car to feature M Hybrid modes. When you press the M Hybrid button, the iDrive screen displays three key driving options: Hybrid, Electric, and eControl. Each mode offers a unique driving experience, balancing power and efficiency.

For those who opt for the M Drive Professional package, you unlock two additional modes: Dynamic and Dynamic Plus, adding a sportier and more responsive driving experience.

In this video, we’ll dive into each mode and explore how they affect the performance and feel of the all-new M5 hybrid.

I wish they kept the gear knob to change the drivelogic on the fly like the other M cars

Great to hear detailed information from knowledgeable people. Thank you for taking the time to explain the technology.

Me too. I like using it as a sequential gear change on my M cars

I don't remember a longer driving-embargo on any car launch, ever!

On all the M cars I wish comfort got as soft as Porsche. With BMW there is not much range in the adaptive suspension.

This question goes to all PHEV performance cars. If I have been driving in EV mode and all of the sudden I require maximum performance for let say getting up to "speed" getting onto the highway and the engine kicks in. How hard is it on the engine/drivetrain since they would not be up to temp?

I think the looks will grown as with the g80 m3, front end is nice and aggressive more than usual as are the rear side flared arched. The back however, with the box like bits sitting above the exhausts are out of place. The weight is a bit much but how many m5 owners actually track their cars? The interior has come a long way and a very nice improvement. The wheels should be more concave and aggressive to match the front like the ones that were on m6 gran coupe. At least it's not a 6 or 4 cylinder 🎉

Is it possible to drive this car with only the combustion engine and the electric motor as an aid? And if so, what setup is this?

3min in and this makes zero sense. I’ll stick to the G80.

Could BMW use for its luxury models artificial intelligence to automatically set up the drive mode that suits the driving style of the moment? And suits the location (thanks to GPS use)? The new Canon cameras use AI for unbelievable autofocus and these things are tiny machine… so a large M5 should be able to embark some brainpower…

I actually like the complex big screens. i like playing around with the settings, but i also enjoy more simple smaller screens as well, which i think is more driver focus and safer.
