I finally figured out how to get 4k video recording and streaming using the Logitech Brio 4k Webcam and TLDR it wasn't because of the Logitech Software.

I still stand behind what I said earlier that this is still the best webcam on the market and think everyone should strongly consider this webcam in 2019 or until something better comes along...4k 60fps maybe?

In order for me to get 4k resolution happening on this camera I needed to use OBS studio or StreamLabs OBS Studio and manually set the resolution to 4096x2160 which is not exactly 4k in my opinion but its what Logitech mention it can go up to. If you try 3840x2160 it may not work smoothly.

So here are some quick things to check before you try.

1 - Connect it to a USB 3.0 or 3.1 port on your PC or Laptop.
2 - AVOID USING A USB HUB! Even if its a USB 3 powered HUB it still won't work!
3 - AVOID using the Logitech Capture Application. Use either OBS Studio or OBS Streamlabs

I found though that as long as those steps are followed you should have a pretty smooth experience.

I saved for this website and finally bought it, but the quality I get is EXTREMELY Pixelated compared to what I see on the internet! I'm connecting to a USB 3.0, Very strong PC and graphic card, Have good lighting, played with the settings A LOT, NOTHING improves the quality! What do I do?!
I even tried going to support in my local store and they gave me a new one cuz I thought it was faulty, but it did not help.

You should use 3840x2160 to perfectly fit your canvas windows to record 4k perfectly

Over 2 years later and this has helped me a lot, thank you! I had my brio plugged in my 3.0 usb and was wondering why I didn't have the choice to choose 4k! haha

I've updated the Logitech capture on this day to the latest, the 4k settings still won't show up. I would suggest using Microsoft Camera app or other capture software.

Thanks for the video. I have noticed when I do the 4K on my Brio, I can see 3 white pixels, and I think your has one on the left bottom under the 3rh small picture. Logitech might be aware of the issue thus decided to no to allow 4K?

Hi, would this work on a Smart TV? I'm looking to get one for my TCL Android TV

Capture will only show 4K for the Brio if FPS is set to 30. 60FPS is only available for FHD, not UHD. Also, you need USB 3.0 for 4K to work AFAIK.

I just got my brio yesterday and I'm really frustrated. Can't figure out/find whichever softeware I'm supposed to be using. I did find the Camera Settings (I'm on MacBook Pro), got that figured out. I downloaded OBS. Sort of getting that figured out. Can't fing "Capture" on Logitech site. And what's the difference with that one—what's with all these different softwares. Thing I'm most concerned about is my laptop fans run so much while i'm using it thast absolutely worthless for recording any audio. I'm sure hoping there's some sort of setting I can change to make that better. The OBS meter said it was only running at around 2-3 CPU. I would appreciate any help. I noticed you have several other microphone options. Logitech Brio comes with two omnidirectional microphones. Which do you prefer using?

(I'm new to getting an external webcam / microphone - so like anything from my laptop's built-ins will be an upgrade xP )
