As a father, when I see her… I see my own child. I see the gentle love in her eyes and the glimmer of hope she refuses to let die. Seeing this is crushing. She’s someone’s baby. And even if they never loved her right save that’s why she’s where she is… she still deserves to know what it feels like to genuinely be loved. To be cared for, to be cared about, to be cherished. I pray she finds clarity, peace, and sobriety as well as love, care, kindness, safety, and the warmth of a genuinely kind and loving person.

I would never let my children experience this. Ever. When people go through things, you don’t push them away, you pull them closer and remind them that you’re never going to let them go. No matter what proverbial or literal edge they’re hanging from or throwing themselves off of. Constant support, unconditional love, and forgiveness is all most people ever need. All it takes is one person.

She hasnt been out too long. She still has a gorgeous set of teeth. She's super cute. Hopefully she finds some hope and the will to recover. 15 years+ of recovery for me and it's given me a home, a family, two beautiful children, and many more gifts. We do recover. I hope she does too.
