The fact that the Zonai were just a miss-able bit of background lore in the last game only for them to be the main focus of this one is some of the best set-up I've ever seen.

Breath of the Wild was a fantastic first attempt at a true modern open world for Nintendo. Tears of the Kingdom is so good because they listened to a lot of the critiques from the last game. I find anyways.

Couple that with the crafting system which I personally love and it just offers so much more. It also has some linear elements in line with the original formula but still retains the ability to wander and explore.

It feels more like the OG Zelda than BOTW while feeling like an evolution of BOTW's formula.

Here's a secret that most people don't know when... Nintendo claimed that they would keep bugs and glitches in the game so long as they didn't affect the gameplay and they were fun...they weren't kidding... it was stated by Nintendo that the ascendant feature was nothing more than an accidental bug in their development kits that they want up having so much fun with that they decided to leave it in and just made it a mechanic

Speaking of things transferring over, Your Horses from BOTW are also transferred over if you still have to save-data from said game. Giving you a chance at unlocking Epona early in TOTK.

I wish King Rauru could’ve spend more time with Link as a companion throughout Tears of the Kingdom.

After all, he did wanted to meet a hero, and Zelda’s own appointed knight she loves and admired since BOTW.

If we go to where we would get the Hylian Shield from Breath of the Wild in Tears of the Kingdom, we instead get a paraglider cloth. The real location of the shield in Tears of the Kingdom is where we would discover a shrine at the Hyrule Castle Docks in Breath of the Wild.
