As a U.S. Citizen I've never been so embarrassed by how the Congressmen and women (on both sides) acted in the Tik Tok hearing, it was borderline Sinophobia and extreme ineptitude. Guns are the leading cause of death for children in the United States, but Congress can't unite on how to deal with the gun issue in the country but now because of an app I've never seen such a united front in Congress before. Facebook has collected and sold user data to the highest bidder around the world, yes including China but Tik Tok is the problem? Fox "News" incited the riots of January 6 but Tik Tok is the problem? All this because Tik Tok is considered a Chinese company even though Tik Tok isn't in China. A lot of Americans see the banning of Tik Tok as a violation of their 1st Amendment rights so if President Biden bans Tik Tok before the next presidential election there are going to be a lot of disappointed Democrats in 2024.

tik tok is certainly taking location, phone data, audio and video notes through your phone. people in security sensitive jobs should not have it installed in their phones. The difference between this app and other apps is that this app have an obligatory duty to send these "selected" data under chinese law. Anyone can convincingly be sure that important person's private data/politically/military useful data in tik tok's server WILL NOT be sent to the CCP in china? These data can be used for blackmail and other strategies planning purpose. Huawei was kicked out of android's ecosystem, no problem, now they use Tik Tok, Meitu and Wechat apps to achieve their agendas through your android and iphones.
