Brand New Kioti CX2510 First Impressions and Three Issues

In this video, I give an overview of my experience with the Coyote CX2510 tractor after putting about 16 hours on it. I highlight three observations that aren’t major issues but are worth discussing:

White Smoke on Cold Starts: There’s some white smoke in the mornings when I first start the tractor, but it clears up quickly. I suspect it's just a normal part of the diesel engine warming up.

Emergency Brake: I noticed the tractor rolled a little when parked on a slight incline, but I discovered you need to really step on the brake pedal to fully engage the emergency brake.

Sticky Transmission: Occasionally, I have trouble shifting between high and low gear, but after moving a bit in low gear, it eventually shifts fine.

I also talk about a small hydraulic leak that I tightened up with some crescent wrenches and a flat tire that held air after refilling it. Lastly, I share my experience with the tractor feeling a bit "tippy" when carrying heavy loads in the bucket, which made me realize the importance of using a ballast and keeping the bucket low.

Overall, the tractor has been awesome, and I’m looking forward to using it for more tasks around the acreage. Stay tuned for future videos where I’ll explore different implements like a box scraper, blade, forks, and maybe even a grapple.

Thanks for watching!

There is a recall on those tires. I have 25 hours on mine front would go flat every week or so. The dealer called kioti said they was a recall now I have all new set that’s right all 4 tires with rims and I kept my ones on the tractor u have got to call the dealer people when something don’t feel right

Same issues with my new John Deere 2025R. They are all pretty normal. On occasion I need to raise bucket just a bit to get the transmission to engage low. I sometimes see a little smoke on start but not bad. These small tractors are tippy. I added RimGuard to the rear tires and 2 inch spacers on the rear. This was a HUGE improvement. In addition to liquid ballast in the tires, I would also recommend keeping a rear implement attached. I have a backhoe on mine. Enjoy and be safe!

Hi. I have the older 2017 CK2510 version of your tractor with 2200 hours on it.

White smoke: It's unburnt diesel on a cold engine. Normal with every diesel

Park Brake: Brakes in these are a wet brak cam-style. Think Flinstone brakes. You will always need to press hard on the pedal then lock them in.

Sticky transmission: Not an issue, its not sticking. You have straight cut gears in the transmission. If you have difficulty going from H to L or getting ito gear, rock your F/R pedals in neutral to light up the gears. Then your lever will fall into place.

These tractors will last a very long time with proper use and maintienence .

My parking brake has always been terrible. Depending on which way the tractor was on an incline, I would either drop my ballast box or loader bucket on the ground to hold it still. I notice that when I go to shut the engine off, I will idle it all the way down first so on startup the throttle isn't high when it starts. My brother always leaves the idle high when he shuts it off so it smokes so bad when its restarted the next day lol. If its warm enough outside, it won't even give me the option of using the glow plugs, but if it lets me use them, I will use glow plugs even if its somewhat warm out and I notice it not only starts better but doesn't smoke much.

When in neutral if it won’t go in gear easy just tap one of the hydro pedals then will go in gear easy. Try it.

On my HST when the engine is cold I have to briefly press forward and reverse pedals before I can select H or L range.

A little bit of white smoke on cold start isn’t weird for a diesel.

If you move the loader it will help you engage the transmission. Mine smokes a little at cold start also. Definitely get the back tires loaded.

Love my CX2510 (100hrs) - the dealer added RimGuard when I purchased it. However beware RimGuard rots rubber valve stems (I found out the hard way). I recently went to put air in the tire and the entire inner sleeve popped out. Fortunately I had the stem above the liquid line and was able to super glue the sleeve back in. Jacked up the back end and ordered Colby XL brass valve stems. I lost maybe a cup of RimGuard but had to leave the tractor up on blocks until the stems came in. Took about 10 minutes to install on both tires. There is a Youtube video with had the same issue on a CX2510 - but it looks like the guy lost most of his fluid. My only other issue was that the safety module under the seat decided to quit (known quality problem) so the tractor wouldn't start. Cost me ~$150 neither the dealer or Kioti would address the problem. Fairly easy to replace via another YouTube video. Love the grapple and backhoe. Still waiting to use the box blade. Good luck!

Add some liquid ballast in the rear tires or put an implement on the rear will help with tipping.

I have read that L H gear will break in after a bit.

Mine puffs a bit of smoke on first start up too. Never has been an issue

I have the same tractor and it smokes when I start it, it also smokes a little and stumbles when I run it up to PTO rpm (2600). I've read in more than one place that it's common for the injector pump timing on these engines to be off from the factory, and need a shim pulled. The sticking gear selector is a thing also, but the Kubota B2601 and JD 2032R I had before did the same thing.
