You could have moved all that stuff quicker if you didn’t have the reducer nozzle on. That nozzle reduces the air volume while increasing the air speed. Good for wet sticky leaves etc but bad for what you were doing.
Don’t worry, you’re not alone. I’d guess most people put them on simply because it’s in the box not realising what the end effect is.
