the fact that 3 Dragon ball openings are present before 2000 only shows how big and influential toriyama sama was and still is even after his passing. RIP Akira sama

I imagine 2014 mustve been a pretty stacked year for anime openings, the tokyo ghoul opening obviously, the first noragami opening, no game no life, your lie in april, silhouette.
That year also had 2 of my personal favorites with ambiguous and strike back

Candy Candy was the only anime that my parents watched when they were kids in Mexico. Going to visit family and all the adults sit down to watch Candy Candy in the living room like when they were kids was so nice. I loved that show even though it is old.

18 years ago I got a burned CD from a friend with various songs on it. One of my favorites was a song that I thought was in Japanese, but I couldn't be sure. I listened to that CD all the time for a year or so before I lost it. This was just before Shazam was a thing, so I never knew what that song was. For 17 years I would try to find it, but since I didn't know what the lyrics actually were or even what language it was in, I was stuck. Every once in a while, I would listen to hours of anime song compilations, since that seemed like my best bet to find it. I even used music software to recreate the pieces of the song that I remembered, which I posted online in various places to try to crowdsource the search. I never had any luck with any approach. Then today I see this video from a couple weeks ago and think "Hey, maybe there's a chance. Maybe I'll finally find the song." I listen to the video, not really paying attention, until I hear it. I recognize it in two seconds. I've finally found it. An 18 year old song when I first heard it, an 18 year journey, for everything to come together in this moment.

Thank you.

Its really fascinating seeing the different eras of anime by how the most popular illustration style evolved over time.

This is one of the finest snippets yet. I like how it gives two sections of the song -- the beginning and the chorus. Most I've seen so far only has one thing or another.

Neon Genesis is like a total throwback, bringing back all the feels from my childhood. Watching it again is like a blast from the past, reminding me of all the late-night anime marathons and heated discussions with friends about the plot twists. It's like revisiting a piece of my youth and rediscovering why I fell in love with anime in the first place. Nostalgia overload!

I watched Angel Beats a few years ago and honestly that OP is my favourite out of anything. It really feels like you're falling through the sky just listening to it.

Also it's scary how 2003 feels like a lifetime ago and yet 2013 feels like yesterday.

Despite my distaste for SAO, it seems like its the first popular anime to have the modern art style

The evolution is crazy
The fact that some anime’s are still airing and the animation style is improving a lot
