The Port Strike Can CRASH The Stock Market

The stock market is setting up for another volatile week but the looming port strike this Tuesday can wreak havoc on the stock market. If no agreement is made by Tuesday we could see up to $7.5B a week in economic damage. The leader of the ILA has even said that even if the government steps in, if no adequate deal is reached they will only put out the bare minimum. The last time something like this happened was 1977 but many are worried it can cause the same inflationary effects as the past. Although the stock market has been bullish so far in September, many are attributing it to the amount of rate cuts around the globe and are worried a port strike mixed in can really reignite inflation. I go over all of this and what the port strike means for the stock market, then I go over the market this week and the main news events for swing trades & day trades. We will be hearing from Jerome Powell this week as well as over 7 other Fed members and also getting the ISM & Non Farm Payrolls. Mix this in to the China stimulus last week and now the port strike, we will have no shortage of catalysts as the markets continue to climb all time highs.
