you can then add "ref:" and a specific branch/commit/tag to target that instead of the latest master

Thank you. That was informative. I need to learn more about git usage. Currently I only do git pull, git commit, and git update. There are so many features available that I don't use, like the automated build system. Thank you for this feature vid!
