This is a topic that has been of huge concern to me and many of us back home. Thank you for sharing these major reasons with us. I now have a better understanding of this. Indeed do not leave your family. That's the best piece of advice. Prioritize things. Hmmmn, that fast lane thing is so common. I don't know why some wives don't understand that acting that way doesn't pay. If you start working and earning well abroad, it should change you.

Nobody or anything else can make you abandon your family except you….it’s a choice.There’s not something so spectacular here in the US that will all of a sudden change your values. There have been other immigrant men coming to the US that haven’t in the past and don’t abandon their families, As a single black women in the US I know several women who’ve been duped by men lying and using them for papers and have an entire family back home. It’s beyond reprehensible.

My husband listened with me and he said ‘ I kwutere ya mana onwere ndi I na-ekwuteghi’ .he said the main reason why they abandon their family at home is because of their investment in Nigeria. That if the children should come here, who will they now leave all those things for ? Me??? That one is nonsense and ingredients. So investment is better than family . O di egwu.
