White Water Preserve just 20min from downtown palm springs. The preserve includes a scenic trout farm (no fishing) and hikes like the 3.5 mile White Water Canyon U-Loop.
The White Water Canyon Trail connects with the 2600 mile long Pacific Crest Trail which cuts through the preserve.
Just half a mile west on Interstate 10 is the Coachella Valley Preserve features groves of giant fan palms.
The Palm Canyon Trail near Downtown Palm Springs - is a 2 mile loop trail. (There is an entrance Fee)
Take the Palm Springs Arial Tram up 6000 ft to escape the heat.
