If my fiance went to go see if the man who slept with her mother and grandmother was her father and then slept with him when she found out he wasn't and disappeared on a jet setting adventure with him and I, worried sick about her having disappeared for a day found her making out with him, I wouldn't take her back and I certainly wouldn't do it about 24 hours after finding this all out. This movies wants to act like it's a happy ending but its beyond messed up. the only thing that could make this worse is if their daughter ends up sleeping with Beau. Jeff deserves better.

This was a harshly criticised movie when it came out, but I LOVE it. I don’t know if it’s great, but it’s just one of those extremely watchable and soothing 6pm-on-a-Saturday romantic comedies from the 2000s with a cast that’s lovable and solid. Love to watch and rewatch.
