Awesome.. It worked!!

I installed CyanogenMod on my AT&T Galaxy S3 last week with no problem however new AT&T android update came out (4.1.2) so I went back to that. I decided to switch once again to Cyanogen but all of the sudden I got the dreaded Status 7 crap. Must be something to do with AT&T's new update.

Just used WinRAR free trial to simply open the updater-script file and delete the text lines. Upon saving WinRAR updated and re-archived that file. Worked like a charm in clockwork.

Thanks for making this, I was curious to install an d2att rom on a d2spr device and all I had to do was change that file straight out of the installation folder worked like a charm. Thanks again =)

The asserts are there for a reason. If it's not installing on your device, you better damn well know what its going to do before you remove the assert.

Case in point - the International Samsung Galaxy S3 (GT-I9300) is immensely different than the US variants. The partition scheme is completely different between the two. If you were to try to flash a GT-I9300 on your US variant Galaxy S3 (you can see how someone might make this mistake and try to do this) you'd get a status 7 error, because what you are installing is for a completely different device. Removing the assert in this case would cause a hard brick. You'd be overwriting your bootloader with a kernel (if you overwrite your bootloader with a kernel, you're gonna have a bad time).

Seriously, if you are getting errors, don't remove the assert unless you know EXACTLY what you are doing. They are put there for a reason.
