More like shrinking between the cracks, because he doesn’t really have to shrink between the molecules,
because there are tiny crack like structures, were you just have to reach microscopic size to go between the cracks,

That light thing that he had to reach out and grab while shrunk would have photons larger than his own size no? It looks like he was well below quark length and that light should have looked like the size of a planet. I don't think you can cut or shrink light.
