The Eternals has done the absolute unthinkable leading up to it's release by being the first MCU movie to receive a negative Rotten Tomatoes review score. So in...celebration(?) of that we run through the lowest ranked movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe before getting to giving the Eternals a big old looking see this Monday's podcast. Thor: The Dark World was secretly Natalie Portman's chance to redo Attack of the Clones with a far more charismatic scene partner. You can take the scene where Thor is showing her around Asgard and then juxtapose it with the "I don't like sand" scene. It's hilariously apparent.

That's a very good point, even the lowest MCU films are films i thought were just fine. There's no Catwomen or Steel equivalent there, and that in itself is really impressive. But of course on the internet it either has to be a 9/10 or it's the worst film/show/game ever made...

Kids today are so spoiled. Back in my day we were ecstatic if we got a middling superhero movie. All we got were Steel, Spawn and Meteor Man, and we were happy to get them.

Some of the ratings Gone with the Twins give are absolutely wild, maybe you could do a 'predict the score these weird twins gave based on some examples'-video. To give three examples: The Favourite got a 4/10, while Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker got a 7/10, the same score as Parasite.

I love when an origin story shows how a character received something arbitrary that almost all viewers probably ignored entirely, like a vest, or a set of golden dice on a chain, or a big round table with 6 chairs but room for more.

I think all MCU third act final battles should take place under the song "I'm Just a Girl." Imagine how much cooler the Killmonger vs T'Challa fight would be if No Doubt just started blasting out of nowhere for no reason.

Got to watch Eternals last night and I gotta say it got off to a strong start. The various deviant designs are great. But… I found it meandered a lot in the first half. Lots of exposition. Lots of jumping between time periods. The dialogue and characters felt a bit stiff. BUT - about half way through there’s a big reveal about the mythology surrounding the celestials and the eternals, and the plot comes into focus. I don’t know anything about the comics so I found this really really cool. Then from that point onwards it gathered a lot of momentum, the characters seemed to come to life, and it built to a very epic and satisfying conclusion. I ended up really loving it.

just saw eternals tonight and can say with confidence it isn't the worst mcu movie so far. can understand some of the criticisms but it definitely deserves more than its currently getting
