Kenny & Amanda Smith had this song for about six or seven years before they recorded it for their 2012 album, Catch Me If I Try. A girl, Tami Lee Pockstaller, had walked up to them at the IBMA festival (International Bluegrass Music Association) and handed them a CD of songs she had written. This song was number two on that demo, and it blew them away.
