We used to sing this at school in 1956 in the UK. It is hugely edifying in old age to see that this standard of worship is unchanged as is the Lord God Himself.

I just love to hear these beautiful hymns. They remind me of the days when churches were full with people here in England praising God and his Holy Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Today it is so sad to see the state of this country that once sent out missionaries throughout the globe, to preach the message of Jesus Christ and many people turned to serve our Lord. Now today, this country has backslided a way from God. This has led to a new religion of hate, arising in this country. If we are not careful will lead to the distraction of a country, once known for democracy and for worshipping the living God, Jehovah. Lord help us in this time of much confusion to honour you once more. IJN

I came to listen as all day today I thought about my great-grand mother who left us 23 years ago. She would have been 113 this October. This was her favourite song and I was her favourite person in the world. The only love I can safely say was unconditional in my whole life. I love her in life and in death. All the kids in the congregation who have no idea of the wonderful words of this glorious hymn, I am so glad that I am probably the last generation who universally sang hymns in school. I cannot imagine being robbed of this.
