I've seen an incident where someone attempted to unplug a Tesla, but the lock was engaged. Instead of unplugging the charger, they instead unplugged the frame -- well, they ripped off the cover to the charging port. On another occasion, I saw someone become so agitated that they physically punched a Tesla with enough force to trigger the car's alarm.

With limited EV charging available, current etiquette says that if I arrive at a charger and the ev currently plugged in is done charging, I can take the plug for my car. All this device does is mean a Tesla can now hoarde the charger even after they are done charging, preventing others use. We’ve all been ICEd out of a charger at some point, but on many occasions I’ve been blocked by a Tesla just using the charger as premium parking (not even plugged in!). I think this Karen Lock just perpetuates the idea that Tesla owners are insufferable.
