RV Water Heater Pilot Won’t Light: How to Replace Pilot and Thermocouple Tubing Assembly

Thanks for the how to video. Good job on the instructions. I just wanted to add one thing to your instructions, and that is to make sure the nut is all the way to the flared end before bending the line. I made that mistake on a brake line a while back and had to get another new line. Once the line is bent, it can sometimes be impossible to straighten and then get the flared fitting nut back to the end of the line because bending the line distorts it, and the nut won't always be able to slip past the bulge where it was bent. Rebending them can also cause issues like a kink in the line.

One little note i know you said optional cause it's not necessary but i like you feel better with it but they make different tape for different application's water being the biggest but gasses are different if you want to look it up, but thanks for the video 👍

I see your pilot tubing is tweaked right on the in feed side...mine was too ....I straightened it out and blew through it both ways...it's working now....but I will replace it soon!

Just something worth noting. You wrapped the Teflon Tape around the threads in the wrong direction. Those are right hand threads and you should be wrapping them in the opposite direction. :)

😮my pilot lights but only when im holding it down. As soon i release the button the pilot slowly goes off. Goes off immediately when i try to turn the know to the on position. Do you think i need to replace the same part in this video?

On my camper when I turn on the switch on the inside it will ignite my hot water heater but then kick right back off is this the problem you think
