YAY for finishing 🎉🎉🎉🎉 I totally get it. I have a hard time finishing stuff too, but I've been doing so much better.

I switched all my younger kids to math with confidence and even used the 3rd grade with my oldest to help fill in gaps and we are loving it! It's by far the best math curriculum we've used (we've used a lot). I wish it was out when my oldest was younger bc it would've solved a lot of our problems with math.

Switching my youngest from TGTB math to Math with Confidence for first grade next year it looks so good! My oldest LOVES Denison Math which is saying A LOT lol hopfully your daughter will love it too. I will also be using AAS and AAR for my youngest. I used level 1 and 2 with my oldest and love some of the changes they have made in the newest versions!

We have that Funschooling Journal also! We go to the Funschooling Co-op and the author of the books is so wonderful. We’ve really enjoyed the journals and the logic curriculum from there.

Would love a flip through/look at Imitation in Writing 🤩

What a great update. Thanks for sharing. Imitation writing sounds so tempting. And are there answers for the Minecraft math book?

I think I will be switching my oldest in 7th grade to Denison Algebra as well. Also in the pre algebra. We received unlock math for a year to review and it has gone really well. But I am seeing her often get problems wrong because she won’t write down information or if she does write it down, something is incorrect. I’m hoping Denison helps train her a bit more to follow through with her work. Plus Unlock math is more expensive than Denison Algebra. We will also be using funds 😃

We use All About Learning Press as well and love their products. My eldest (4th grade) finished level 3 AAS last year and he’s now doing SCM Spelling Wisdom/Using Language Well this year. I love it! My 2nd grader is using AAR Level 2 and AAS Level 1. We also loved Math With Confidence for my younger but switched to MUS because lessons took us way too long and all the components made me feel disorganized 😅. We love LOF too 🫶🏻

I used to switch curriculum a lot as well, but have finally found my groove with AAR, AAS, and IEW. There’s something to those old classic curriculum’s that just works!
We’ve also used the good and the beautiful math for 5 years and it works so well for us.

My son does 4th grade math with The Good & The Beautiful curriculum and he absolutely loves it! He also does musical math facts with them too and it has been the best thing ever in helping him memorize his math facts! He learned his math facts in a month

😊 So happy for you with All About Spelling!!! I felt the same when we finished Math with Confidence 2 on Friday last week!!!

I'm curious the difference between Imitation of Writing and IEW? Is there a reason to pick one over the other? From what I can tell IOW uses story source material and IEW is more information text?

We use All About Spelling as well! I love how thorough it is with the spelling rules. We are repeating level 1 to solidify those rules because we found that short vowel sounds were still getting confused after completing level 1, and he was not segmenting but still guessing words. We also use All About Reading, almost done level 2! Excited to move to level 3 and we also are committed to finished both AAR and AAS

Congratulations on finishing AAR, COMPLETELY & AAS 1 & 2! 🎉🎉🎉
My son is 11 and we are almost finished with AAS 2 (we started AAS 1 last year). I just want to encourage you & your 5th grade son because my son has really matured in his reading, writing, spelling, & math SO much in the last year. It's been an uphill climb, but we are both starting to see that hard work pays off. I struggle with consistency too, so it was refreshing for me to hear you voice the challenge you're having with the written naration.
We started using IEW SSS level 1 last year, didn't finish, & are doing it again this year. But typing the paragraphs this year has made this less of a struggle because my son was very frustrated by writing a rough draft and then a final draft. I'm curious about the writing you mentioned, so I need to go back and watch that video.
Math - ugh so hard. My 10th grader is finally happy and learning with a positive mental attitude thanks to Mr. Dennison and Algebra 1. My son & 14 year old daughter have started using Math U See this year (I couldn't afford to do a second child in Dennison at the time). They're doing ok. Better than before, but we stopped all curriculum at the end of last year and through the summer and worked on addition & subtraction facts for all 3 kids, then quickly worked on multiplication and division (which still is not mastered, but MUCH better).
I looked at CTC math, but was able to borrow Math U See, so that's ehat we did. I'd love to know what you think of CTC. ❤
Jesus has all of this, but the day-to-day is "noisy". Let us not loose our joy. 🙏🙏

We where using MWC 3 but, it was moving a little to fast for my young 7yr. older so, we paused for a little and hoping to pick it back up soo. My other 2 daughters use TG&TB Math and it works amazing for them. Maybe you can check TG&TB math out for your oldest. It comes with video lessons as well. You can print each math level out for free if you don't want to purchase it. I have to say it is beautiful when you get it from the company. Give it and try and it may be a good switch. Also, you might need to check out The Magic Tree House & Merlin Mission books. Those are great books for kids.
