The best thing that Ovie did was win a Stanley Cup, now he can go about his business and become the greatest scorer of all time. The man is a machine, he goes through and around defensive players, and even when he’s one on one against the goalie, he scores at will.

As a hockey fan I’m happy to see with my own eyes the skill Alex has demonstrated over the years at the best level of hockey.

At age 36...25 games, 20 goals, 19 assists and a +19. Amazing.

If it hadn't been for the 2004-2005 nhl lockout, this would've been goal 800.

even if he never beats the record he is the best modern shooter period can't ever take that away from him.

What if? 1000 and we live at the same time with the greatest of all scorers in the history of the NHL? If it weren't for all those stupid season cuts and lockouts...

It's been almost 20 years and teams still haven't found a way to stop his shot. It's pretty unbelievable what he has been able to do. Even the greatest scorers of all time had slowed down by his age.

He really is great A class. Greatest goalscorer there has ever been.

Just to put things into perspective, in his last 4 FULL seasons from 1995-96 to 1998-99, Wayne Gretzky only managed to score a measly 70 goals in a total of 314 games.

Whereas Ovi, just in the past two shortened seasons (2019-20 and 2020-21) until now, has scored a startling 92 goals in his last 138 games.

Winning the cup is allowing him to focus entirely on the scoring title. That pressure is off his chest now (I’m sure he’d still be glad to win again) but he can put all his energy in passing Gretz. And he will.

See you all in 2024-2025 when The Great Eight breaks Wayne Gretzky's NHL all-time goals record.
Barring some serious career-ending injury, it's only a matter of time at this point.
Watch.

Will the Hockey Hall of Fame waive the waiting period once he retires? They said that no player would be waived after Wayne Gretzky but surely they could do it for Alex.

Hes a man on a humble mision and no one is going stop him. He shows no sign of slowing down either.
