Thanks for watching! 🙏 ❤️

BTW, no telling me to smile more isn't going to make me do it. That's why I tried hard to never show a smile in this one 😊 🤫

I moved to Germany in 1965 and was so angry and disappointed at everything I saw and heard that I never left.

The thing I find MOST hateful is that by using public transportation, I STILL often have to walk a few blocks to my final destination. OMG, that fresh air, the safe auto free streets, the exercise of my muscles, heart, and lungs. That cannot be good for you. The fact I lose 10 to 12 pounds every trip. I'll just shrink away to nothing. THAT is NOT good.

I didn't think Americans knew what irony and sarcasm were, but I was wrong 👍😂
Welcome to Europe, I hope you have a really good life here. 😊

This is an example of American bravery and stamina I did not expect in 2025 - moving to a place where everything is hundreds and thousands of years old - or as we say "outdated".

The most inconvenient thing about Europe is the number of foreign nations in every direction/within intolerably short distances. Imagine being France, literally surrounded by Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Andorra, and Monaco (and being separated by the British by way too little water). Imagine being a happy German and realising that you can not move in a straight line for long before entering the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Belgium, Austria, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Poland, or Luxembourg in addition to being separated from Sweden by way too little water. Mysterious foreign cultures, languages and traditions in every direction. That can not be a dignified way of life for any "monoculture enthusiast"?

What possibly is even more horrifying is that Europeans have decided that people from foreign nations can cross national borders at will without walls, fences and being strip-searched and humiliated at the border. You may think you are safe in Spain, but I am telling you - you are at perpetual risk. Without knowing, someone on your street could easily be a Sami from Northern Scandinavia, a farmer from Scotland, a banker from Estonia, a student from the Netherlands, a Norwegian student positively trying to OD on cheap wine, entire families from Slovenia, an Icelandic art student, a winery owner from Romania - the list goes on forever. None of these are carrying a passport. Nobody is wearing a flag to identify them. It is a jungle on European streets. It is mayhem, chaos and anarchy of foreigners roaming around everywhere as if they have some sort of privilege. And while you ponder that horrifying truth - remember that the same is true in work-life.

Madness!

Whenever I’m out of the US I shed almost a lb (half a kilo) per week without even trying to. If I ever were to leave the US permanently, I’d probably just shrink up and not exist after about 5 years.

I hate that my country is among the top happiest countries in the world, year after year. It puts tremendous pressure onto me to be happy as well. The neighbouring countries are also at the top of the list so there's no escape.

🏆🤣LOVED the sarcasm and you have a beautiful velvety smooth voice.

Congratulations on the channel and the move.

More videos about the cost of living, information about the various healthcare options, easy of finding work, pros/cons would be appreciated 🙏

I hate not giving tips for service at a restaurant. The servers get decent salaries, which smacks of Socialism to me. And they don't even say, "Hi I'm Pedro and I will be your server tonight." What is really the height of Socialism is having an ambulance pick you up and take you (and others) to a medical appointment in a city with a larger hospital. And you don't pay a penny. Surely that is un-American. Another thing that really upsets me is not having commercials on TV for political candidates or not allowing huge corporations to donate money to a candidate. And the election campaigning only goes on for about three months. And what about the parliamentary system (I live in Portugal) where you have deputies from the Green Party, the Communist Party, the Animal Protection Party, and the United Left Party? Wouldn't it be so much nicer to have only two Parties?

As a German I agree. Around the block where i live is a pond, almost a small lake, nested beautifully within the residential area with a surrounding park, a grocer right there in walking distance, and generally much greenery. Its so pretty and walkable, so serene and relaxing, that it is disturbing. Imagine how many BMW's could be parked there. Imagine how many!!

It's really awful in Europe. No Second Amendment. How am I supposed to protect myself and my family? No supersized meals. How am I to properly get that warm, fuzzy fealing in my belly? They speak French in Disneyland. I don't speak French. No big billboards advertising lawfirms. How am I to find a lawyer when I want to sue someone? In winter, it's cold, dark and wet everywhere north of Spain, Italy or Greece. A lack of advertisement of prescription drugs on television. How am I going to talk to my doctor if I don't know what drugs I should recommend him? Can't wait to go back to 'Murica.

I'm English, not American, but a lot of what you say makes perfect sense. I was sure I would hate living in Spain and so needed to stay just to prove my point 😉 I found it difficult to adjust to the lovely people, the beautiful scenery, the history, the architecture, the wonderful food and the way of life. I was confident that, as a Brit, I was surely going to fail at learning Spanish but couldn't help being forced to chat with friendly people in cafés and shops - it's become so bad that they even understand me at the Ayuntamiento 😮 I really enjoyed the video - it did make me giggle!

Let us not forget that you have to endure apartments with walls now into which you cannot punch a hole.

Madre Mia, the Americans in Europe are taking our jobs.
Endless complaining is all we have, what are we gonna do now?

USAmerican living and working in Germany for 35 years, had a detached retina so was not able to work for six weeks. But received my full pay, and didn't lose my job! Not to mention that (like everyone else in Germany) I have great health insuance that covered all costs. Very strange country 😮
