Dr. Anthony Fauci: ""Health disparities have always existed for the African American community, but here again with the crisis how it's shining a bright light on how unacceptable that is...when you have a situation like the Coronavirus they are suffering disproportionately." He concludes, "When all this is over, and as we've said, it will end. We will get over Coronavirus, but there will still be health disparities, which we really do need to address in the African American community."

Most Blacks have poor access to healthy food, health care, etc. There aren't large grocery stores in the city and most don't have a primary doctor.

Blacks are mislabeled often in the medical community due to unreported physician discrimination! What do you think a black patient would do once they pick up on condescending tones from physicians? They’ll get defensive and turned off. Then they’ll get labeled as agitated and combative. It’ll go into the chart and then every healthcare worker in her chart will treat the patient as hands off as possible to avoid confrontation. The patient will then get more offended after they feel neglected and the cycle will propagate ending with high morbidity and early mortality due to poor medical care.

No, it's because they are on FB live partying on the street and not taking this seriously.

It’s almost as if this pandemic has laid bare, and exasperated, all the worst things in our sick sick country.

He is saying when they have these things...but he names a lot of self inflicted behavior where behavior is never mentioned because it'd politically incorrect. When covid was rampant, black communities still protested, had huge gatherings..basically didn't care or thought ignorantly towards it. That will spread something for sure. Disease and air particles do not share a color preference

ooooh booy, I haven't trusted this guy for a minute. I really do hope that this statement about the 'african american community' and coming statements like it that could be made about other marginalized and disadvantaged communities won't be used to justify stringent taking away of those people's freedoms under the guise of medical protection and greater good-ism.

Is he implying that someone else's life choices and preexisting genetic health conditions is the fault of others?

I'm not super pc or anything, but nobody I know refers to "backs" or "the blacks". Everyone I know says African American or black people. No journalists call them blacks or the blacks either. Not even on Fox. I'll call people what they like to be called, unless they want to be called something inappropriate, like "Your highness", but who knows? Maybe I could get into it.
