The modern history of Poland struggling against fascist Germany and communist Russia reminds me the modern history of my own nation sufferring from fascist Japan and communist China. My grandfather was working in the coal mines in ScrantonPennsylvania America When Germany invaded September 1st 1939 then Russia September 17th 1939 .
My grandfather tried to go Back to poland to fight alongside his brothers he could not make it back so he joined the American military.
He served 6 years on the battleship North Carolina as a Navy corpsman.
When my grandfather was on his death bed saying his prayers and Polish he made all his grandsons promise him if any country ever invades poland we will fight to protect the Polish way of life. His last words the Polish people only kneel to God .

During World War II, Poland was the only country in the world where a death penalty for helping Jews took place. Even for giving a Jew a glass of water. The death penalty applied to the helper and his entire family, brothers, sisters, wife, children and parents. Despite this, hundreds of thousands of Jews thanks to the help of Poles survived the war.

We know pain of Poland. Republic of Korea and Poland were invaded by the Axis forces(Nazi german and Empire of Japan) and were colonized by them. And even after independence, we were invaded by communism. However, we sincerely hope that we will continue to protect our liberty, democrat and for each other in the future.
