I picked up the Hoss today from my local hobby store, let's take a look inside this new 1/10 electrics 4wd monster truck from Traxxas!

It’s not a bad truck. It’s a bad for the price. Beside looking at its class. Look what you can get for similar price. A Losi Lasernut? Slash ultimate? Spend a little more and get a maxx. A better MT in every way. Any of the Pro Losi car. A 6s typhon or spend a little more and get a 6s Kraton or something.
But the traxxas faithful will buy them up comes with an esc fan now”....

Upgrades to trucks are great, but upgrades for the sake of upgrades is dumb. Look at how many old Losi and Associated cars are “out of date” every couple years. And worse, try and find parts for them. I have bought less expensive vehicles in the past, ask me how many are sitting on a shelf to never be used again because of broken parts
, all of them. I am also a fan of the arrma vehicles, have a few of the 1/8th scales. But they seem to be the exception to the rule. I am glad to finally have a second company building great bash cars and trucks. Anyone here remember how much better the HPI Savage was than the T-Maxx? Try and find parts for it, or any of those old monster trucks. But I bet I can get factory replacement parts for my 10-20 year old Stampede, 2 or 4 wheel drive. Bottom line is this, if all those “less expensive” options over the years were so much better, why aren’t they still around? I’m not saying Traxxas stuff is perfect, indestructible or the best value for the money, but ask yourself this. Will I be able to replace parts on what I buy today, 1 2 or 5 years down the road?

Just get a Kaiju. Overlord power plus it finally has upgrades like a steel spur & aluminum steering ackermann. It needs the aluminum hubs too, but what RC doesn't. You'll still be way better off than trying to take a wack at this thing. I got tired of my Rustler 4x4 real quick. No way I'm touching this except on display at my LHS - & it still felt like I was wasting time.

I didn't realize this is the same chassis as the St4mpede. What worries me is that even though you know it is over-priced, you bought it anyway. That's what Traxxas is banking on.

At the very least, Traxxas should have spec'd GTR threaded shocks, especially at that price point! Nice motor/esc and tires but not rushing out to buy one 👎 Good, honest review, though. Thanks!

Traxxas and their non threaded shocks. And still using the plastic drive shafts and an outdated brushless system. I'm glad I sold off all my Traxxas years ago.

I feel your pain I ordered both colors and was super shocked when I personally looked at the rc so I gave up one and keeped one as I promised my kid she could have it and soon found I could by a body and tires and been better off appreciate the unboxing 👍👍🔥🔥🔥

I have same love/hate feelings about TQ radio. I absolutely hate the steering trim knob, with is too easy to turn by accident.

Love your honesty Razor. I've just ordered a Granite blx V3, saved the $150 for parts as I need them. Not buying into the Traxxas/Apple names. Thanks for sharing. Keep up the great reviews. John

I'm interested to hear your final thoughts on this truck after testing. Especially comparing it to the Granite BLX 3s you had. You can't beat the Granite in my opinion, its a tank of a truck, especially for the price of it. And with the new V3 Granite coming out, it will be even better.

Also, do I still see sway bar mount locations too?

Love the new intro razor and nice review I wish that Traxxas would start putting their gtr shocks on out of the box
