Eva's comments is literally every dancer after a holiday break, or any type of break, even if it's only a few days off it makes you feel so out if shape and like you're dancing so badly.

Amber's advice is 💯%. It's important to push yourself around with the following arm and sides, not pull yourself around in the turn. Centre of gravity cannot be towards the back. Eva is good at understanding what is required.

Amber might be the comic relief we love, but she's also really great at seeing what you need to do differently ❤

I REALLY hate that feeling of my body resetting after doing nothing 😭

The balance thing is actually a very good advice

Don't be so hard on yourself; you're making really good progress! Amber's advice is absolutely correct. What's also happening is since you're not fully on your box, your knees bend a bit and your feet separate -- trying to balance. As a result, your upper body leans back (ribcage is lifting) to compensate so you don't fall. That takes you off your vertical axis and it gets difficult to maintain connected chaînés.

It might help to think of your body as a jenga tower -- when each level is directly on top of the the one below, things are stable. When pieces start getting out of alignment, the tower comes tumbling down.

Keep working on your ankle strength so you can get on your box. As you work on that strength, a good way to work on maintaining a good vertical is to pretend you're being lifted toward the ceiling by an invisible string coming out the top of your head (be sure you don't tilt your neck); your body will automatically want to align properly and engage your core (another thing that'll help you stay on axis). It's a great way to improve everyday posture too!

I’ve been dancing ballet since I was three, and I feel this way every time I have any sort of break. Sometimes the muscle memory saves me a bit but most the time I feel exactly how this video is.

Ribcage is too lifted. Engage your core. Head over shoulders, shoulders over hips, hips over knees, knees over toes.

Amber should become a teacher, she is very good at instructing, has the patience of a good teacher i would definitely take her classes!!❤

She explains it very well. She is a good teacher. When she’s done being on stage performing for a living she can teach and own her own school if she wanted to. She’s good at teaching. And she talks to people good. Some teachers are not good at communicating with people. And it’s important to speak to people right. When you do you can get anyone to be able to do it. Because they will work hard for you because they are not getting beat down or feeling insecure because of what is said to them by the teacher. So she can teach anyone to dance I’m sure.

I know that feeling. I take time off, get back on it can feel like I’m new to it and starting over. But it’s like riding a bicycle. It comes back to you.

Pushing yourself, no matter what you do, is the only way to be better. You women are an inspiration. You don't stop, you keep going. And you're getting better and better and better!

Ugh. I can only do like 2 or 3 chaîné turns--after that it's like the part of my brain that's in charge of spotting goes completely offline. You're doing really well!
