I have been a competitive dancer since I was 4 and let me tell you it is not an easy environment to grow up in. You constantly have people telling you you aren’t good enough. My advice is to just keep pushing because even though you are struggling the outcome of dancing and doing what you love will make it all worth it.

I’ve cried in the studio couple times already, cause I got to emotional at lyrical or contemporary 😅👍🏻, and sometimes after ballet or at home when I had a super bad day and felt useless, but we need to always remember, why we even showed up that the studio and why we love it so much. Then it will be okay

I can confirm this as a Ballet and Latin dancer, they are both hard and we try to hold back our tears during practice, but trust me, you will be fine and soon get used to it❤

I’m in my 40s, a single mom, gone thru so many hard times. But you’ve done something I haven’t yet, focus on a skill for yourself, dedicated, pushed thru the hard times, day in and day out, bettering yourself, and mastered. Something for you. Thats an amazing human experience most people haven’t had the strength to get thru yet. I did ballet when I was young but gave up bc I hyperventilated one day in class bc my teacher was pushing me too hard and she thought I was faking. I felt like I was going to die, I couldn’t breathe. So I quit. But I hope you can remember to congratulate and be proud of yourself every day bc you deserve it.

It's that feeling when you try your hardest but still can't be as good as someone who does it easily and right away. I often feel this too, sometimes I just want to give up, because this person is getting better and better, and you are standing still and not developing.
