Digital dash LCD upgrade shootout FIS Control VS ColourMFA VS 3DColorMFD VS Liquid Gauge Audi TT Mk1

There are several options for upgrading to a digital dash instrument cluster for your Audi TT, S3, VW Golf or Bora. I’ll compare all of the best LCD upgrades available on this platform. Including ColorMFA, FIS Control, 3D ColorMFD and Race Diagnostics Liquid Gauge.

We all know that the Audi TT, S3, VW Golf an Bora screens tend to get pixellated and illegible so instead of just replacing it with a regular red FIS LCD screen why not upgrade? It’s great to have options in different formats and the choices here are
- A plug and play Audi / Volkswagen instrument cluster digital dash upgrade with FIS Control (which still uses the OEM red screen()
- Two retrofit options that give you a full colour digital display with ColourMFA and 3DColourMFD
- An in vent option that is pretty much plug and play with Liquid Gauge

Hi Ian, Stefan from FIS-Control here. Thanks for the nice review. Just wanted to say that I found a new distribution partner for the FIS-Control units. So they are available again. And actually we were able to lower the prices for some of them.

Liquid gauge was always too ghetto for me. One thing to add about colormfa (and probably colormfd) is that you need to run one extra wire from the car ecu to the cluster to read natively turbo pressure (the most useful thing). Thats because the engine ecu gets pressure reading but that reading doesn't go into the cluster. Thanks for the excellent video.
