Challenging perspectives, the installation 'o̶v̶e̶r̶/medicated/u̶n̶d̶e̶r̶' is made from thousands of prescription bottles that were donated and collected.

The organic structure invites viewers to explore underneath, promoting inclusivity and acceptance of the stigmatized topic of prescription medication. Its biomorphic design, featuring soft edges and captivating curvature, encourages a new understanding of prescription medication by showcasing elegance through material metamorphosis.

It symbolizes the ongoing struggle to find effective treatment, mirroring the process of trial and error to discover the right combination of medication. Drawing inspiration from neural pathways, the installation becomes allegorical, representing the diverse variations in every individual's brain chemistry through its organic design and symbolic connections.

There's no shame in taking medication, whether it's an antibiotic or antipsychotic. #OTBS

My friend called me an addict because I was prescribed a medication for my OCD and had been following my doctor's instructions.
I still haven't gotten over it.

The real scandal is that pharmacies do not refill plastic prescription bottles. So much plastic

Jeez, I take 43 pills a day (I had a liver transplant). I could've donated a ton to the artist. It's an awesome piece of art.

It’s criminal how many people can’t seem to comprehend the idea or choose not to comprehend the idea that your brain is a physical part of your body and can have issues just like anything else. Mental health is just as if not more important than physical health

In recovery. I take mood stabilizers. All they do is balance my hormones. Thats it. The entire AA community silenced me and alienated me. I've been in recovery alone about 1 year. 2 and a half years sober.

Using zip ties is actually such a genius move. This way the sculpture stays reasonably flexible and thus less prone to breaking. Really cool!

These sculptures in a dark room suspended from the ceiling with a flat coloured laser shining up and down over it would be so psychedelic

Being chronically ill for more than 25 years, you have no idea how this has touched my heart. I'm crying. Thank you.

So uh I have mdd (for those not in the know that is major depressive disorder), I want to remind everyone whether you're neurodivergent or not, or have a chronic or non-chronic issue, please, coming from experience, take your meds, take some time for yourself and please do so carefully! Do not overdose. If your meds aren't working the way they are supposed to, consult your doctor/psychiatrist! Your body, mind, and self are important! Take care of them!

It take antidepressants and ADHD meds, when my 'friend' first 'found out', they started to avoid me and claimed to be saving my from a drug addiction????

I don't talk to em anymore. It was weird.

Edit: can we quit arguing in the comments please? We all have our own opinions. I just wanted to share a weird experience I had, not start an argument.

I love how free flowing it is, to me it shows the freedom medication can give to someone

I have severe ADHD and my meds saved my life. It’s nice to be able to function every day without feeling like a failure for not remembering to do simple things like brush my teeth. Being able to budget, pay my bills on time, and enjoy a movie with my family is better than the chaos I had running through my head constantly.

I’m from UK and I have chronic conditions. I get all my medication delivered in a week box with morning, day and evening slots already pre filled and all free of charge. I’m forever grateful

At first, i was genuinely confused and befuddled as to who in their right mind would actually consider taking medications (by definition, something you take for your health) as a stigma or taboo. But, then i read the comments and i'm just appaled at the ignirance some people have.
I truly am grateful at the nonexistence of negative reactions towards these kinds of things in my life and can only hope it'd be the same for all of you guys.
Stay safe and stay healthy everyone.

My Adhd meds absolutely changed my life. I couldnt hold a job because i was too scatter brained and couldnt keep track of regular customers so i kept getting fired. As soon as i started those meds i could finally hold down a consitent job
. Started my first year of uni too!
I was almost shamed out of taking them but i told them to shove it where the sun dont shine. My life, my body, not yours.

As an artist, I love this artwork. And as patient who takes a lot of meds, I appreciate the thought process that went into it.

My mood stabilizers saved my life. I will never, ever miss a chance to recommend medication to someone who is suffering. And I am never ashamed to talk about it to strangers. If I feel ashamed, I have failed to do my part for other people who need help.

I love this piece. As someone who takes medicine, it was always very stigmatized to take it growing up. Only vitamines and medicine that helped with physical illnesses were deemed important. Medicine for mental health issues was not. Guessing because my parents thought ignoring it would make it go away. It didn't. It only made everything worse. Medicine has helped me out a ton, I can't imagine my life without it.
