Thanks for this video. We have android, is turning off Data Roaming the equivalent of turning off Data Switching? Would it be better to just disable the home sim and leave the e-sim on for the duration of visit? Thank you.

Do you need an internet connection purely to download the QR code and/or activation code, or does it need to have a strong internet connection because it downloads something during the "installation" phase?
I had been thinking of requesting the activation code during my layover in an American airport and pasting the code into my Notes app so that I could do the install at Haneda without trying to connect to airport WiFi first. Sounds like I should hold off until I've connected to the airport WiFi.

Excellent video it answered the questions I had. We will be in Japan April ‘24 on Diamond Princess visiting 7 port cities. Any suggestions for tour companies or must do things. Aomori, Sakata, Kanazawa, Sakaiminato, Busan S. Korea, Kagoshima, Shimizu. Also, maybe video from Yokohama to Hakone.
