The top dogs usually look down their noses at the underdogs. However, the team at the top might underperform due to choking. On the flip side, the underdogs could perform better than the top dogs because there is not a lot of expectation, and they can play naturally.

On the flip side, the top dogs sometimes experience choking because many audiences expect them to win, which leads them to underperform. Whereas, the underdogs don’t experience any expectation or hard pressure, they are able to play naturally and win, then they are promoted from non-league to the Premier league.
