Sum of the Squared Residuals - Hand and Statcrunch

I show you how to calculate the sum of the squared residuals by hand given an equation you find. You can do this with the regression equation or any equation you think fits the data. Then your sum of the squared residuals gives you info on how good of fit your equation is for the data. Typically the smaller this number is, the better.

how do i view the slope between 2 points along with all of the other points present on the scatter plot? similar to part c

We have to everything by hand 😥 so residual is difference between actual point and point on the predicted line, and the sum of residuals is all the residuals of each point?
