Toyota Yaris Hybrid Long Term: What Do You Want To See?

We've got a brand new Toyota Yaris Hybrid in the CT garage for 3 months. Comment below with your ideas on what we should do with it!

So after the reserve tank has run dry, the car will cut out as usual, even if the battery has charge. Theoretically then, if you're running at 15mph on battery, with a drop of fuel left in reserve, and you increase throttle so petrol engine kicks in, you'll use your remaining fuel and the engine will cut without the ability to lift off the throttle and revert back to EV mode even with juice remaining?

How much milage on one tank full of gas, how much traction on muddy road or beach sand (I am from Trinidad and Tobago), how fast can you drive over speed bumps comfortably, top speed on highway, top speed of a sharp ninty degree turn without losing too much traction, whats the real life mpg for lowest quality gas, does it rattle if you put a 500 or 1000 W rms subwoffer in it, if you have music playing loud inside does it sound loud outside with all the windows up ?

It's already managed to squeeze in all of our production gear (that's 2 tripods, 1 camcorder bag, 1 bag of suction mounts, and miscellaneous video-y stuff)... not bad going!

Comparing it against other Hybrids on the market is a good idea - at the time of release in 2012, this was the first hybrid in its segment.

And looks like Operation Barrel Roll is on the cards!

Maybe do a investigation into the fuel injection failure rate and the cost of repair once out of warranty just as a maintenance comparison

How does it compare to other Hybrids on the market (within reason, since this is your first long-termer)?

Would you (or anyone driving/editing this) give up their car for a Yaris?

How long can you keep in neutral, and pressing the gas pedal? How long will it run with out oil? Can it do an Evel Knievel jump? How far in a rally race will it go? And last but not least, How many kilos of coffee beans can it carry before the tires are rubbing against the <---- Most important because it has more "?"

I think the big question everyone wants to know is this: Is it faster than a Prius?

What happens when you fill it with diesel? Will it float? Does it have a parachute for when you find out its on top of a H and W crane? Will it go upside down in a tunnel? What's it like in the winter? If I pull the hand brake leaver, will my girlfriends clothes come off?

Please don't. Hybrid not designed to work that way. In fact, the system won't start if the petrol engine isn't working (i.e. no fuel).

Yes, the range on just EV might be 1-2miles, but Toyota's hybrid really works by coming in and out throughout a journey. So for a 20 minute journey you might only have the petrol engine on for 40-50% of the time. The idea is a little electricity out, and little back in, out and in and so on - not go from fully charged to empty.
