I'm with you, blu. Green tea has been a big help to me. Fills me up so I don't overeat and also provides caffeine so I stay away from coffee.

I have a sweet tooth too especially after dinner. I usually have a mini box of raisins and they're only 45 calories. :)

People always tell us to take breakfast. I dont agree with it. If you dont do anything(spend the hole morning layed down on the couch watching movies, or on the computer) in the morning (until lunch time) those calories that you are eating will not serve for anything, so you will be eating some calories that you body will not use... Breakfast is myth..

Green smoothies and fruit smoothies (using water as a base) are awesome snacks, just make sure to use ripe fruit and enough of it to make it sweet enough. A recipe I love (this is a full meal, you can reduce it for a snack) is 2 bananas, 2 pears, 2 apples, 1 tbsp (or more) cocoa powder and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Also you can make guacamole or hummus and and eat it with carrot sticks or celery sticks. Just search for raw vegan recipes (without nuts) and you'll find heaps :)

I love that you are realistic, you are the one Youtube fitness person I watch who actually admits to liking and eating sweet stuff and cocktails and stuff haha, life is too short to deny yourself ALL the time. :)

What people don't account for is that Sarah is FIT! She appears to be smaller than the average 130lb 5'5" woman because she has a lot of lean muscle. I was 127 lbs before I started getting really serious about fitness, and now that I do crossfit 4 times a week, I'm 143 lbs with smaller measurements and lower body fat %. Don't compare your body to hers... use her success for your motivation! You're awesome Sarah! I've been a big fan for years :) Keep doing what you're doing!

Great answer. I'm just beginning to get serious about fitness, and I was way wrong in thinking that pounds equaled health. Now I am understanding that pounds don't necessarily mean a thing. We need to pay more attention to measurements, food intake and consistent exercise.

I am a vegetarian/vegan (about 75% of my diet is vegan), and I find the best thing for protein is chick peas (or garbanzo beans). They are realllly good, and they are one of the foods that are considered "complete proteins" because they have all of the necessary elements of a protein. I like to make them in the oven with a drizzling of oil and some spices, or I put them in a pasta (I like using tofu noodles!)

I did not keep track of my calories on a daily basis but would once or twice a week.

You mentioned you did the bar method class 5 times a week. Aren't you supposed to wait 48 hours after a strength training workout to let your muscles heal? Or did you work different muscle groups each day (like and "arms" day and a "legs" day)? I would love to do full body strength training every day, I just thought it wasn't as effective.

Sarah, whats a typical wake up time and bed time for you? Just to have an idea of how early you get up to exercise. Sorry if you've already answered this - it's so hard finding some of your previous answers to things. I wish there was a keyword search button for that. LoL...now I'm just venting.

Sarah: Why did you eliminate fruit as snacks a week prior to the photo shoot? Also, why do you avoid the yolks of eggs? Thanks Sarah, I've been stagnant at my current weight for years (after losing 70+ lbs) and I'd really like to lose that last 10-15 lbs before my wedding in September.

Sarah, I have a question about those 10 Lbs. I've followed different plans for a special occasion and what they all have in common is restricting sodium intake, which does made me lose the 10 lbs in a week or so but, as soon as I add sodium back into my diet I'm back to my normal weight. SO, my question is, is it worthy to go through all that when all you are really losing is water?

Easier way to lose last ten pounds and maintain...drop grains and then keep carbs under 100 grams for at least 5 or 6 days a week. (Carbs from fruit, vegetables, incidental carbs, nuts, dairy) I still drank alcohol the whole time. But, switched to wine as it makes you retain less water. Hard liquor is the worst for water retention. Hard liquor and beer = bad for skin and weight.If you have to pick between the two, go with beer. Low carb, of course. But, always choose wine!

I have endometriosis. So, I try to follow (and mostly successfully) the endo diet. There seems to be a strong relationship between endo and food sensitivities. I know for sure I have a sensitivity to gluten and nuts. Dairy just makes me constipated, which is not good when you have adhesions. And, soy I try to avoid because it is a xenoestrogen. I have a problem with sugar, especially chocolate. A girl's gotta have some fun! ;)

What is your opinion on fasted cardio? Is fasted cardio good for weight loss or should I stick to more strength training exercises?
