Paraffin Wax Therapy in Post-Op Hand Rehabilitation

Our clinic uses paraffin wax treatments to aid in the recovery of certain injuries. This patient suffered a partially severed tendon in his finger and had a surgical repair done by Dr. Kardestuncer. Our Occupational Therapist Christian has been helping him regain mobility in his finger through various exercises. The paraffin wax is applied prior to the therapy session in order to reduce inflammation, increase blood flow, and relax the muscles and tendons in his finger. This helps to improve range of motion, relieve pain, and accelerate the healing process.

This treatment is a gentle, non-invasive way to reduce stiffness in the fingers before doing any exercises with an occupational therapist.
