It's sad to see how they treated hard workers out in the sun, rain, snow, and icy roads.

I find it odd that city carriers and rural carriers do the same job, deliver mail, but their jobs are two separate crafts within the postal service.

I'm a rural carrier in Mississippi and I can verify that all of this is true. I did notice that NOTHING was mentioned about those of us rural carriers who are REQUIRED to use and provide gas and maintenance for our own PERSONAL vehicles. Or that we are also not being paid for delivering Amazon packages and haven't been paid for that since it started in early 2018. When you figure in those expenses with the pay cut that was just crammed down our throats... I honestly don't know how my family will make it. I didn't make near what she made, but I have felt how deep this cuts just as well. I've been with USPS for 10 years, and I love the job I do, but this is so far past insulting and demeaning. To work for a company that has absolutely zero appreciation for the work you do for them and for the risk you take every day to do that work is so disheartening.

This absolutely ridiculous what the USPS is doing to its employees. They should be paid MORE not less! People really don't get it when it come to this job. It's grueling, overwhelming and it's a lot of work. This is one factor in why the USPS is always hiring. They cannot keep people due to bad managers, supervisors and unrealistic routes in terms of getting it done within a time frame. She's right, now she has to do over her route in less time and make it work. I'd never work the USPS again

I'm a retired PM. If we give a carrier an evaluation of 37 hours (for example), then this employee should stop working at 37 hours....regardless of where they are or what day of the week it. Then an RCA carriers out the week.

im a clerk for USPS. those scanners are being monitored by a third party company logistics company. a company that has never delivered a piece of mail/package in their life. this company basically tells our management if our carriers are doing their job right. management listens to this company to justify routes and hours being cut. its basically someone behind a desk that has the expectation that our carriers can run 100mph and deliver mail in less time using vehicles from WW2. these vehicles dont have AC by the way. just little fans. also, our management still get their increasing yearly bonuses. a carrier died June 20, 2023 in Dallas due to the 115 degree heat. the week prior to his passing, he was given disciplinary action for working to slow....in the heat. our management wants to work us to death and still take home bonuses for giving up their humanity.

Yeah prices keep skyrocketing which makes this pay cut even worse. Yet most postal employees vote the politicians in who cause these price hikes. Your union overlords are in it for themselves period.

I went from a 48hr a week route that has never stopped growing to a cut of 41hrs. That's the biggest cut in our office to the biggest route in the office with a loss of $17310 annually. We all know this new system is flawed and they won't fix it.

Mail volume drops and we hire 15 assistants. 😂

Wow this news article makes it sound horrible, At our office we have five routes, three went up, one stayed about the same, and one went down by 30 minutes. I'm not a part of the rural route side but surely the union agreed to this new timing standard beforehand?

I love how politicians love to tell small businesses "you have to do better for your employees, blah blah blah" but when some of the hardest working people out there right within the federal government need to be treated better, they all look the other way. Clean your house first. This comes at the heels of a pandemic that regardless of whether it was deadly or not, the USPS carriers kept this country running without missing a beat. "Here's a 20% pay cut for your dedication to public service, have fun explaining that to your family"

It’s true. East Texas RC and I just took a 15% cut while my route is still heavily overburdened (1073 boxes, was a 48k)

Pay cuts based on computer simulation. In rural areas, factors governing time of completing line of travel is subject to road conditions, rig movers, or wind mill parts ushered through by pilot cars, and weather( rural roads).

Since most dont deliver Amazon packages and mail droping, of course the routes will drop.
Why get paid 8.6 to do it in 6 hours. Management can just add you another wing so pay can go back up..

No other job could justify a 10-20K pay cut with NO days off..

You all should leave the craft and go to a city carrier. Show them you are needed !!
