USPS Mail Carriers Pushing Back Against Planned Pay Cuts

Rural letter carriers across United States, including in Oklahoma, are dealing with a new work structure that they say affects their hours and pay.

I started in ‘97 as an RCA, made regular in 2000….I just received an 8K raise because of the new Scanner evaluation……What they’re not telling you is the reason many carriers salaries went down is because they lost Amazon…..They were getting a nice salary based on a 5 year old count….As they say, the chickens came home to roost 😊

So in Plumas County CA. our mail carrier that delivers mail NOW has to deliver Amazon A SMALL JEEP WAGONEER !!! She starts her day from 13 miles away at the Post Office to deliver she gets all the mail and SMALL packages to just this area....HALF a DAY to deliver. IF she has bigger packages...she will leave a not for US to go pick up the Amazon ???? I pay extra for Prime to DELIVER my Amazon the Fu*k am I now required to go get them....Do I pay less now for Amazon NO. This is BS.

They didnt train us on the scanners properly so they cant pay us. ! Dejoy needs to go back to excel where he came from!

Dejoy can change the post office by replacing the out the window and walking routes with NBU boxes. Saves time, makes small routes, bigger.

The USPS unions are a joke! The carriers have been underpaid for years! Meanwhile, all of the money goes to the bosses and the corporate executives in Washington!! We need new unions that fight for better contracts & wages for the carriers!!

Rual carriers work 4/5 Hours and was getting paid for 8/9 hrs a day. GTFOH 😂 meanwhile city carriers grinding

Lately rural mail service is lousey at best, our old carrier brought pkgs that wouldnt fit in the mail box to our porch, today pkg gets thrown on the ground

The Postal services has over paid and over compensated employees for years and expect everyone else to pay for it. It doesnt take more than 20 per hour to stamp a letter and put it in a bin or sort it and put it in a box. That is menial NO SKILL labor, i.e. minimum wage. The post masters are extremely overpaid and why do I need a 3 post offices within 10 miles of my house? which includes 3 postmasters, nice new buildings that Im sure were expensive to build and operate....

How about this, STOP with all the JUNK MAIL....It should be illegal to fill our mailboxes with the crap.

We pay bills on line. Postal service keeps raising the prices on stamps. So they can just go away.

HA! Where iam from they couldnt even deliver to the right address, the number's were on the curb, mail box's and in some cases over the garage and they still could'nt deliver.Also remember when they were dumping mail in trash cans and in ditches out in the country? So fux em!, they deserve it.

I'm sorry for these letter carriers for having their pay cut, but these people need to wake up and smell 2023! The postal service has been on the steady decline since the rise of the internet, email, text messaging, online bill pay and banking as well as competition from other parcel carriers like UPS and FedEx. The USPS has to find ways to save money in order for the system to remain financially solvent. What they really need to do is cut out at least 2 delivery days in order to save money.
