Decorating My Mom's Family Room Christmas Tree this year!

My mom’s family room Christmas tree is always a little bit more relaxed-feeling tree that matches the atmosphere of the room. This is where we gather to watch movies and enjoy the Christmas season, so we want the tree to feel the same. This year, we used a bunch of Shiny Brite vintage ornaments to decorate the entire tree, along with some houses and birds. I hope you enjoy it and feel the festivity of the season with Mom and I!

A farm is much more than a house to live in; it’s a lifestyle. We grew up setting up a Christmas village with little houses from the 1940s that my mother and her dad used to set up long ago. The receipt picks with toppers are such a genius idea! What a BRILLIANT idea - to store the item you have out year-round, and put it in the Christmas storage box during the holidays. That way when you take down the tree, the year-round item is readily available. Brilliant! Mom's story of putting the lights on the tree with her late husband is spot on. Ahhhh, memories.
