I am experiencing difficulties with hand position when using a compass, I am left-handed dominant. Any tips?

I have been using the Straedtler Mars 551 which has a wheel on a spindle for opening and closing. Recently I have noticed that it moves by small hair increments which foul up my results. Do you know if there is a way to tighten such wheels or do they have to be replaced when they start to slip?

I am looking online for an explication on why you would use the hinges on a hinged leg compass. I know it’s probably a dumb question but I can’t find it anywhere and it’s eating at me. Thanks for your time.

I really hate this style of compass. It doesn't allow you to lock in the size in place. So it always turns out distorted.

Is there a compass that can hold a mechanical compass? The Alvin compass pencil holder is made of plastic and the threading strips. Do you guys make a compass for extremely fine lines or a sturdy pencil holder? 2mm is too thick for me, I need .2mm lines.

I have a Staedtler compass set. My major problem is making small circles, less than 1 1/2 in diameter. Any advice?
