This is the fate of low confidence mixed with identify crisis of Indians who have received education in English in urban India. If westerners mix their accent with our language words its posh/elite/hi-fi but if Indians mix their accent with English it becomes the butt of a joke.

I like the marathi accent... They are at least rooted in their culture... And are not hypocritical.
