How To Deal Cards Like a Professional Dealer | Tutorial

Have you ever seen the way that professional dealers deal cards to players across the table from them? This is a dealing technique known as "sailing cards" and allows you to deal cards long distances and with accuracy.

It's a useful card skill to learn if you enjoy playing card games and also if you're interested in learning false dealing techniques. If you want to be able to do second deals or bottoms deals, then often times you will do these deals while sailing the cards to someone sitting across the table from you in the context of a magic trick or gambling routine.

The most phenomenal black jack dealer I ever saw sailed cards to 7 players and he would throw the card to his left somehow and have it boomerang around past all the players to land in front of the 7th player on his right. Really beautiful. Never saw a card flip over or go off the table. This was double deck in Las Vegas, off the strip.

I have a TON of respect for you as a magician and a teacher. Having said that, It is not good to get into the habit of using an Erdnase Grip for straight dealing. Most advanced level bottom deals are being done from the mechanics grip these days anyway. I would never question you on Magic...but this is something I have years of experience with. Keep up the great work...I enjoy your channel.

This is called "pitching cards" in the casino world. And they will teach you not to move your wrist on your pitching hand

I actually find it a lot easier to do the flick with my middle finger, and grab it with just my index and thumb. Personal preference but I have a lot more feel in my middle finger than my ring.

An Advice : if you want to make slow motion you have to shoot at least 60 FPS and then make the speed 50% in the software editing program,
but if you want it super slow motion you should shoot at 120 FPS and then make the speed 25% :D

Hey Asad, I'm working as a dealer for some time now and I instead of using the ring finger, I use the middle finger for flicking. It does work for me and there's no need to change it, but what do you think about the two methods, did you try both and found that using the ring finger works better?

Hi. Thank you for this video! Do you have a recommendation for the best product to use for dry fingers? Thank you!
