Former Israeli prime minister says 'Israel has to respond' | Middle East conflict

Former prime minister of Israel Ehud Barak says it's "quite clear" the region is going into a "full scale war" following Iran's missile attacks on Israel. However, he says this "doesn’t mean that it cannot be stopped".

Mr Barak goes on to say the strikes were "major failures", and that Israel is "capable of striking Iran in a way more than Iran is capable of striking Israel".

He criticises the current Israeli prime minister on how he's dealing with the conflict, telling Sky's Mark Austin that Benjamin Netanyahu's "leading interest is how to survive in power".

Ehud Barak (Bibi Netanyahu's old commander since 1972) needs to be listened to carefully. Iran will be 'stopped ' definitely.

Even if the moderate opposition ask for retaliation, it is apparent the issue is serious.

In that case they shouldn't expect any backup from the UK & US!

Israel needs to consider its options very carefully.

Last night Iran proved that they are able to penetrate Israeli air defences.

Iran almost certainly already has nuclear weapons or can obtain them very quickly from North Korea.

Israel will be in for a surprise if they choose to escalate this conflict too much.

Kier Starmer is firm with me when he says Israel is not a horrible people. I can't validate that.
And he spoke to the King of Jordan.
i would like to hear from the King of Jordan in the same way.
I do some research
Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein is the King of Jordan.

i've seen him.
He is of Local Culture, be he is not of Local Race.
Er
Give me 24 hours.

The shortest air line distance between Tehran and Tel-Aviv, is 1, 585.70 km. Palestine, Jordan and Iraq are between them. Not the regimes but what about the people including in the region and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation worldwide?

This guy is delusional. Iran has thousands of missiles plus russia defence system. Israel is too small for iran. When iranians start hitting the equivalance of what israel will do, its over.

October has never been good for "Chosen ones" be it October 1973, October 7, 2023 or now October 1, 2024. Anyhow I believe living on a stolen land should always come at a COST.
